3 Van Insurance Policies

When it comes to starting up a business that employs the use of vans it can be a difficult process in working out what kind of insurance you actually need to cover your fleet so that they are properly and legally covered. You can easily find a great selection of quotes that are competitively priced through all the comparison websites that have suddenly popped up in recent years (Van Quote Direct for instance) and it is this way that so many businesses save money every year.

However, what kind of insurance is the right one for your business and the activities and tasks that it conducts? If you are primarily working in an area that delivers goods to people – whether this be courier or home delivery of your products – then the courier insurance is right for you. This is very much geared towards insuring the contents of the vehicle and by this we mean the goods that you are taking to the destination while also covering the vehicle itself while it is on the road. This can be invaluable in protecting peoples’ items when they are on route to the drop off point.

Another useful insurance policy is that of transit insurance. This basically covers the vehicle as it moves around and is less geared towards what is in the back even though this is covered to an extent as well just not as much as the courier insurance. This is great if you predominately use your van to move from one job to the next with easily replaceable tools in the back. The last type of insurance that we will look at is short term insurance. If you are only going to be using a van for a few weeks or months then having this insurance will cover you for that period instead of paying an annual fee.
